A Hand Of Cards

I really enjoyed the work of Francis Upritchard today at The Nottingham New Contemporary.
Her anarchic human figures draw on and parodies of contemporary craft techniques in a series of dislocated domestic settings. Upritchard has also used her exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary to revisit the medieval myths of Nottingham.

Into the Forest

More shots of France. We stayed in the Cahoutte with the canvas roof at the top of this page.
The caravan caught my eye; a French man sat alongside the caravan and typed away on his laptop with his dog obediently at his side.  The whole thing popped up like a pop up book and folded away neatly inside the trailer, quite amazing.

Loire Valley, France

Hello,
we have returned from a fantastic vacation in the Loire Valley, France.  Here are a few snapshots from our trip, more to follow.  A very peaceful reflection of time passing by, lazy breakfasts, good food and amazing inspiration. I love France......

Haddon Hall

We visited Haddon Hall today in Derbyshire, a long awaited visit and well worth the wait!
An amazing medival hall nestled in the hills of Derbyshire.  The paintings in the chapel, dated back 600 years, they looked some what modern and very current. Her are some snapshots my favourite details.

Fine Little Day

A great little day was had today, we headed back to the Yorkshire hills where I was invited to show some of my new paintings at the ever famous Holmfirth Artweek.
We had dinner at The Vineyard Restaurant and sampled some of Holmfirths finest wine from the seven acre vineyard that nestled in the hills below the restaurant in the amazing Holme Valley.

Art in the Garden

The sun shone on Janet's and Pete's garden today as they launched their venture The Refectory Table http://therefec.moonfruit.com/. A collection of artist and crafts people gathered to eat cake and share thoughts, ideas and research. I finally got the chance to meet Maxine and her lovely flock of birds http://www.maxgreerdesign.co.uk/

Norfolk in the Woods

Here are a few photos I took whilst away in lovely Norfolk. Good food, good music, good company and sadly wet weather.
We discovered these amazing tree pod hideaways in the woods near Holt Hall!
I will be showing work again at The Nottingham New Contemporary Design Fair Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August.
